Our Story

John Susi Mpandi is the founder of the New Hope Community Organisation in Iganga and a dedicated community leader and mentor. Motivated by the challenges faced by street-connected and orphaned children, he pioneered the use of music as a powerful tool for rehabilitation, discipline, and emotional healing.

Through New Hope, alongside the Iganga Community Brass Band Music School, he provides vulnerable children with a pathway to recovery—supporting them to overcome trauma, reintegrate into education, and develop both musical and essential life skills. His work continues to transform lives, turning hardship into opportunity and offering children a renewed sense of purpose.

At New Hope, music is more than entertainment, it is rescue, it is rehabilitation, and it is hope made audible.
